Mama and BabyDo entrepreneurs have to choose between family life and their business? I don’t think so.
The 5am clock started it’s usual ring, it was time to finally reply to those 100 emails in my inbox. But, it was just at that moment - that moment that I had slung off the covers and swung my feet to the floor that I heard the click of our son’s door closing. I knew what this meant…and sure enough, our 4 year old son comes walking in sleeply and crawls into our bed. So, I had to make a decision - should I get-up and battle the inbox, or snuggle with my son?

I hate these kinds of decisions - but I know which one I will choose: the snuggle always wins. I tell myself that I will get up later and continue with my blog commitment - but the email (something I really hate) can wait until later in the day. The problem is - I told myself this yesterday. But, today will be different - I’ll wake-up the kids in about 5 minutes, get them ready while my husband makes them lunch. After I drop them off, we’ll go for our usual Tuesday jog, and then I swear - it really will be email time.

“They” say, those highly efficient and successful people, that we should all write down a list of the 6 most important things to get done the next day, put it on top of your ‘inbox’ pile and do it. But, when was the last time we put “snuggle with kids” at the top of that list? Why do they have to be at the bottom of the ‘to-do’ list? Why do we have to make decisions between family and work? I guess that’s just the American way. I guess it’s just something all entrepreneurs have to face when they have a family.

Today, one of my “to-do” items is to research sales call centers - one that would take the hour-long per client sales process off of my plate and onto someone else’s. So, instead of having to choose between family and work - I’m choosing to get ‘work’ off my “to-do” list so that I can focus more on the things I treasure most: my family. I will keep you posted on all that I’m doing to help with this - starting with the call center.

My 5 minutes are up - time to wake-up the kids!
-Love, Peace and all that Jazz!
